8mm x 3mm Antique Brass Chicago Screws – 10 Pack

A classy alternative to the humble rivet – and easier to install!

These little Antique Brass Chicago Screws have been specially designed for Betty Box Pleat.

The stock standard Chicago screws available are too long in the shank to be functional for most handbag applications and tend to sit without enough stability/tension to look super professional. Introducing the gorgeous 8mm x 3mm Chicago, if you would use a 6mm shank rivet you can use a 3mm shank Chicago screw and know it won’t look amazing and won’t pop under pressure! Love these!

Super easy to install:

1. Create a hole for the shank to go through using your leather/hole punch – hole diameter should be slightly smaller than the shank we recommend punch that is 3mm – 3.25mm in diameter
2. Insert the Shank through
3. Pop a smidge of glue on the tip of your screw (E6000, HT2, Tiger grip or other clear drying metal/fabric glue)
4. Using your flat head screwdriver, screw the base into the head shank, keep going until it’s all in tight and you’re done.

Dimensions:

• Head Diameter = 8mm (1/32”)
• Head and Base Thickness = 1.5mm (1/16”)
• Barrel/Shank Diameter = 3.5mm (9/64″)
• Barrel/Shank Length = 3mm (1/8″)
• Screw length = 4mm (5/32”)
• Base Metal = Brass base which equals no rust!! Yay!!
